Colossians 2

1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh

2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and

2 ἵνα παρακληθῶσιν αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν, συμβιβασθέντων

3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
4 Τοῦτο δὲ

ὑμᾶς παραλογίζηται ἐν πιθανολογίᾳ.
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
5 Εἰ γὰρ καὶ τῇ σαρκὶ ἄπειμι, ἀλλὰ τῷ πνεύματι σὺν ὑμῖν εἰμί, χαίρων καὶ βλέπων ὑμῶν τὴν τάξιν, καὶ τὸ στερέωμα τῆς εἰς χριστὸν πίστεως ὑμῶν.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
6 ¶ Ὡς οὖν παρελάβετε τὸν χριστὸν Ἰησοῦν τὸν κύριον, ἐν αὐτῷ περιπατεῖτε,
7 Rooted and built up in him

, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with

7 ἐρριζωμένοι καὶ ἐποικοδομούμενοι ἐν αὐτῷ, καὶ βεβαιούμενοι ἐν

τῇ πίστει, καθὼς ἐδιδάχθητε, περισσεύοντες ἐν αὐτῇ

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
8 ¶ Βλέπετε μή τις ὑμᾶς ἔσται ὁ συλαγωγῶν διὰ τῆς φιλοσοφίας καὶ κενῆς ἀπάτης, κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, κατὰ τὰ στοιχεῖα τοῦ κόσμου, καὶ οὐ κατὰ χριστόν·
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
9 ὅτι ἐν αὐτῷ κατοικεῖ πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τῆς θεότητος σωματικῶς,
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power
ℵ ⟨the principality of the church⟩
:
10 καί ἐστε ἐν αὐτῷ πεπληρωμένοι, ὅς ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλὴ πάσης ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐξουσίας·
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins

11 ἐν ᾧ καὶ περιετμήθητε περιτομῇ ἀχειροποιήτῳ, ἐν τῇ ἀπεκδύσει τοῦ σώματος τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
14 ἐξαλείψας τὸ καθ’ ἡμῶν χειρόγραφον τοῖς δόγμασιν, ὃ ἦν ὑπεναντίον ἡμῖν· καὶ αὐτὸ ἦρκεν ἐκ τοῦ μέσου, προσηλώσας αὐτὸ τῷ σταυρῷ·
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
15 ἀπεκδυσάμενος τὰς ἀρχὰς καὶ τὰς ἐξουσίας, ἐδειγμάτισεν ἐν παρρησίᾳ, θριαμβεύσας αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐτῷ.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or

in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
16 ¶ Μὴ οὖν τις ὑμᾶς κρινέτω ἐν βρώσει ἢ

ἐν πόσει, ἢ ἐν μέρει ἑορτῆς ἢ νουμηνίας
WH νεομηνίας
ἢ σαββάτων·
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
17 ἅ ἐστιν σκιὰ τῶν μελλόντων, τὸ δὲ σῶμα [+]

18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not

fleshly mind,
18 Μηδεὶς ὑμᾶς καταβραβευέτω θέλων ἐν ταπεινοφροσύνῃ καὶ θρησκείᾳ τῶν ἀγγέλων, ἃ μὴ ἑώρακεν

ἐμβατεύων, εἰκῇ φυσιούμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ νοὸς τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
19 καὶ οὐ κρατῶν τὴν κεφαλήν, ἐξ οὗ πᾶν τὸ σῶμα, διὰ τῶν ἁφῶν καὶ συνδέσμων ἐπιχορηγούμενον καὶ συμβιβαζόμενον,

αὔξει τὴν αὔξησιν τοῦ θεοῦ.
20 Wherefore

if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
20 ¶ Εἰ ἀπεθάνετε σὺν χριστῷ, ἀπὸ τῶν στοιχείων τοῦ κόσμου, τί ὡς ζῶντες ἐν κόσμῳ δογματίζεσθε,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
21 Μὴ ἅψῃ, μηδὲ γεύσῃ, μηδὲ θίγῃς —
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
22 ἅ ἐστιν πάντα εἰς φθορὰν τῇ ἀποχρήσει — κατὰ τὰ ἐντάλματα καὶ διδασκαλίας τῶν ἀνθρώπων;
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and

neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
23 Ἅτινά ἐστιν λόγον μὲν ἔχοντα σοφίας ἐν ἐθελοθρησκείᾳ
WH ἐθελοθρησκίᾳ
καὶ ταπεινοφροσύνῃ καὶ
