1 And I
ℵA ⟨he⟩
stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion

3 And I saw
ℵA ⟨I saw⟩
one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world
ℵA ⟨earth⟩
wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave
ℵA ⟨because he gave the⟩
power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who
ℵA ⟨and who⟩
is
ℵ ⟨is⟩
able to make war with him?

πολεμῆσαι μετ’ αὐτοῦ;
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies
A ⟨blasphemous⟩

About the Greek Text

The Greek text displayed here follows The New Testament in the Original Greek: Byzantine Textform, edited by Maurice A. Robinson and William G. Pierpont (2nd ed., 2018). This has been collated, however, with the Greek text of Westcott and Hort (first published in 1881), and the variants are recorded in the notes.
